About Cameron May

Cameron May was established in 1992 by Nick May and James Cameron as a publishing company specialising in the area of international law. Since then, Cameron May has grown in both size and experience, now also publishing titles in Spanish in the Ecuadorian office in Quito.

International Law Books and Journals

Over the past fifteen years our attention has been drawn to one facet of an evermore liberal economic order - the way in which so much supranational and cross-boundary regulation has been incorporated into national legal systems. This has had, and will continue to have, a profound effect on anyone studying or practising international law. Also, much of the regulation, previously considered as part of a discrete discipline, now informs other, previously disconnected areas.

We hope that our books and journals on international law and policy will provide you with the tools necessary to address and understand these issues. Written and edited by internationally-acknowledged experts in the field, we are sure that you will find them invaluable both as lexica, and as the most prospective and exhaustive analyses of public and private international law.

We are the publishers of the journals: International Trade Law Reports (ITLR), China Trade Law and Practice (CTLP), International Criminal Law Reports (ICLR), International and Comparative Corporate Law Journal (ICCLJ), Journal of European Criminal Law (JECL), WTO Decisions, and The NAFTA Arbitration Reports (NAR) all of which are leaders in their fields. Combine this with our prolific output of books and monographs on international trade, human rights and environmental law and policy, and you will find that if you browse through this site, you are certain to find something of interest.

Cameron May has been consistently expanding the breadth of the areas covered. We now publish widely across many aspects of public and private international law, including new products covering international criminal law, international commercial arbitration and international human rights, as well as continually expanding our products covering all aspects of international trade and economic law and international environmental law. International Law and Arbitration Conferences

Apart from publishing books and journals, Cameron May is also renowned for organising various conferences on international trade law and arbitration including the annual series on Dispute Resolution in the WTO. The conferences have attracted many high profile speakers and are aimed at CEOs, in-house counsels and practitioners specialising in international law. More information can be found on the conferences page.

Distance-Learning Programme

Currently Cameron May and the World Trade Institute, have teamed up in order to provide a distance learning programme on international trade regulation, within which participants work towards a Certificate of Advanced Studies in International Trade Regulation. The World Trade Institute has trained several hundred people now on international trade law in various training and education programs offered both in Switzerland and abroad. It has become increasingly apparent that there is a huge deficit in knowledge and expertise, particularly in developing countries, in this relatively new and certainly under-studied field. For this reason, the WTI is now offering the possibility for students from all over the world to study on one of its training programme. It is hoped that this programme will make a contribution to bridging the knowledge gap and redressing some of the asymmetries between developed and developing countries in the role that they play in the world trading system.
